Domaine Champalou Vouvray "Moelleuse"

36,00 €

With Moelleuse, the Champalou family delivers Chenin Blanc in a sensational way in an elegantly sweet version. The late harvest results in raisiny noses that have concentrated their sugars on the vine. Depending on the particularities of each vintage, a small percentage may be affected by noble rot. The key point of the wine is the perfect harmony between the elements of sweetness, ethereality and freshness. A freshness that animates the fruit and achieves a balance as perfect as an acrobat on a tightrope. There are very few varieties in the world that have the ability of Chenin Blanc to produce top sweet wines at the level of Moelleuse.

More info

The grapes are picked manually so that they can be sorted by bunches with passerillage (concentration of sugars on the vine) or noble rot if the year has caused it. This is a nectar which, in a tremendously skilful way, brings to the glass at the same time sweetness, lightness, freshness and extraordinary levels of complexity. Candied pineapple, peach jam and honey amongst the wine's wonderful aromas but where it's really exciting is on the palate. Tension and complexity suggestive of a pedigree wine but with a lightness and airiness that make it enjoyable without being heavy at all. With 75gr/lt of residual sugars and such levels of acidity you could also enjoy it as an aperitif.
