Denis Jamain Reuilly Rosé "Les Chatillons"

15,50 €

If Reuilly whites have to compete with the reputation of the famous neighbouring Sancerre, the rosés of the region play in their own separate category, with no real rival. Reuilly rosés are among the rarest rosé wines in France, and are also the only wines in the entire Loire Valley produced exclusively from the Pinot Gris variety. In fact, Denis Jamain's "Les Chatillons" is more Pinot Gris than rosé, possessing an extremely "shy" colour but not at all shy on the nose. A nose with an attractive freshness to the fruit and hints of the exotic spiciness of the grape in its very cool mouthfeel.

More info

"Le Chatillons" is produced from vineyards in soils characterised mainly by gravel. The Pinot Gris is harvested early in order to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The nose "blooms" with a bouquet of crisp red fruits, rose petals and citrus fruits reminiscent of saguarine. Very elegant and soft on the palate, with lively fruit acidity and spicy notes of ginger and orange peel. This is one of the most beautiful secrets of the Loire vineyard and one of the most charismatic rosés in all of France.
