G. D. Vajra Barolo Albe

65,90 €

Albe is an amazing introduction to the magic of the Vajra family's Barolo wines. And while the Vajra's "ace in the hole" may be the sensational crus from vineyards like Bricco delle Viole, or Ravera, Albe is a tribute to the ultimate in balance. A balance achieved through the blending of wines from vineyards in different parts of the zone. Once upon a time this is how all Barolo wines were made and there was no such thing as a single-vineyard concept. Albe is a masterful blending of the quality of the family's privately owned vineyards at high altitudes. Refined, harmonious, velvety, with a fine balance of alcohol and fruit, a great Barolo accessible early and with top value for money.

More info

Silky, with aromas of dried rose and violet, layered aromatic complexity with extra spice, red fruit and traces of leather. The year gave the wine a fine balance of alcohol and acidity with mild - for the variety - tannins. Combined with plenty of fruit on the palate, they help it to be enjoyable and expressive without requiring long cellar ageing. Its name means 'the rising sun'. Just as you see it emerging from behind the mountainous vineyards of south, south-east and south-west exposure that contribute to the Albe blend.
