Chandon de Briailles Corton Bressandes Grand Cru

323,60 €

A young “beast”, a pristine Corton with stunning structure and depth of fruit that begs for long aging. Les Bressandes is a top vineyard on the imposing Corton hill, which stands out from miles away. It is home to some of Burgundy's most historic, high quality vines. Nowhere else, moreover, in the whole of the Cote de Beaune will you find grand cru vineyards for Pinot Noir. Next to the muscular conformation of Les Bressandes, however, there is room for elegance. Intense minerality tightly wraps the fruit that exudes vibrancy, achieving balance and unimaginable levels of energy. The aromas float from the glass and the tannins, robust but always subtle in texture, recall what great Burgundy is all about. A miracle of stunning balance.

More info

The fruit for Les Bressandes comes from four small pieces of the famous vineyard with its combination of clay and limestone. The vines are grown biodynamically and the overall philosophy of the winery is entirely traditional, with little inclination to interfere even with sulphite levels. Vinification is 80% whole bunch, in concrete open tanks and the wine will be aged in old barrels of average age of four years combined with a new Austrian Stockinger. Everything is done naturally, with indigenous yeasts and no additions other than minimal sulphites when needed. Beautiful ripe fruit, with animal complexity and earthy notes reminiscent of the forest after the rain. Tannins dense and robust, balanced by the juicy fruit and ending in a long mineral finish full of nerve and energy. It certainly has fifteen years ahead of it in the cellar to age.

Isole e Olena Chianti Classico is yet another example of the finesse and delicacy of the wines of Paolo de Marchi. Fresh and juicy with the classic notes of red cherry, mint and licorice, wrapped around the typical fine tannins of Sangiovese and all this on top of a palate that is overwhelming you with the freshness of its acidity. Elements of smoke and a...

    2003 - Loire - 500ml

On the one hand, great aromatic and flavour concentration, intensely oily sensation and richness in the mouth. On the other hand, excellent range, air and freshness. Multi-layered flavours and aromas, notes of quince, toast, caramel, along with strong dry-fruit elements. Richly sweet but with terrific lift and spirit leading to an exciting finish with...
