Two different terroirs. One inland and one by the sea. But be careful, we are not talking about the terroir from which the grapes come but the terroir of Retsini. The next step after producing wines using sustainable resin (without chemicals) was to research how the origin of the resin can influence the aromas of the raw material and therefore the character of the wines. And the differences are striking. Based on Assyrtiko from the privately owned vineyard of Goumenissa, with the same winemaking techniques and with the only change being the parameter of the origin of the Resinio, Eleni Kehri continues to develop her research. From the year 2022 come the two micro-communications. Ousia (the word represents the year 2022) Stergiano is a stunning Assyrtiko, with clear bright botanical notes, reminiscent of pine, mastic and all the power, concentration and maturity of an Assyrtiko and comes from a collection of resinous pine trees from the hinterland of Megara in the Gerania Mountains.

More info

It is as if Eleni Kehri managed to capture in the bottle the most characteristic features of Greek nature and made it into wine. A wine in which you can enjoy the botanical elements, the freshness of pine in perfect balance with the fruity characteristics of the Assyrtiko of Goumenissa and mild notes from the barrel. The sustainable resin gives crystal clear aromas rarely found in a wine. The way Eleni Kehris leans deep into the tradition of Greece, not to preserve it or out of nostalgia, but to find the forgotten wisdom and bring retsina to the forefront the next day is stunning. Wine is like drawing a straight line that connects the past with the present and leaves a great legacy for the future.
