Σκλάβου Muscatus Temulentus

A fantastic addition to the new season of dry Muscat from various regions of Greece. After all, the small-flavoured Muscat grows in many wine zones, including Kefalonia, which are "dedicated" to the production of sweet wines at least within the limits of the Protected Designations of Origin. Evriviadis Sklavos working with amazing organic vines of the White Muscat variety in the Paliki area and very low yields, he goes outside the Appellations of Origin for Muscatus Temulentus, a dry Muscat which is another of his new standout wines. With multiple layers of complexity that move it away from the monotonous aromatic profile of the varietal, but being at the same time infallible Muscat, the old vines give almost electrifying acidity and freshness in a cataclysmic "attack" on the palate. Attractively fresh and dry style comparable to the best dry Muscats of Alsace.

More info

The wine is organic and the vineyard is located in the area of Katogi (lower than the sea level) of Paliki. The small acreage yields of the vineyards (privately owned organic and cooperating) are from 30 to 50 years old and the wine is vinified in anoxic tanks with indigenous yeasts and bottled after remaining with the lees for about 8-9 months. Perfectly dry, with incredible acidity that makes it appealingly fresh, light bitterness on the palate, flavor with intensity and persistence, a Muscat that is perfectly gastronomic and full of layers and interest. You can age it for at least five years.
