    Old Roots is like a rugged, sniper, hitting directly at the heart of all Xinomavro fans. You will feel that 70-year-old old vines have condensed all the characteristics of the variety into the wine. It is surprisingly wild but not in a crude way, as the density in the fruit partially tries and eventually succeeds in taming the ferocious power of the tannins. It's tight, tightly bound and resilient. It will need several years to loosen its bonds as this is actually a very young wine that will benefit greatly from ageing. A little beast in a cage that will impress you with its power and amazing personality.

    Old Roots comes from a single-vineyard Xinomavro vineyard in Goumenissa and due to its single-vineyard character, it cannot bear the appellation of origin on the label since legislation requires at least 20% Negoska in the blend. Biodynamic farming as well as the age of the vineyards helps to harvest Xinomavro earlier and at better maturity levels. The fruit is austere and dense at the start, dried and ripe red along with intense peppery notes and a slightly rustic earth and leather feel. A bubbly mouthfeel, unforgiving tannins and penetrating acidity that stimulates and further stimulates the tensions on the palate. Long natural finish, with a sense of lack of sulphites. A unique Xinomavro that reflects the infinite power of this particular clay-calcareous terroir.
