Tissot Pinot Noir "En Barberon"

In some ways the Jura region is twinned with Burgundy, which lies just eighty miles to the west. They have a lot in common, for example they share similar soils and climate and furthermore the stunning Pinot Noir of the Jura reflects the region's close connection to the spiritual home of the variety, the famous Cote d'Or. En Barberon comes from a vineyard on limestone soils and is a fantastic alternative to Burgundy. It is a Pinot Noir of mild natural vinification with very low levels of sulphites. Structure and energy reminiscent of Nuits Saint George, with spicy and smoky notes accompanying the bright, fresh fruit.

More info

Use of whole bunches in fermentation which lasts a total of five weeks in oak winemakers and then follows maturation in 600 lt oak barrels for one year with 15% new. Delightful ruby red colour and aromas of red fruits such as cherry, cranberry and pepper along with elegant floral notes. Excellently structured on the palate, with wonderfully textured tannins and flavour complexity. Spicy and with hints of tobacco on the palate leading to an excellent mineral finish. A wine with aging potential that can go beyond a decade.
