Le Sang des Cailloux "Un Sang Blanc"

44,20 €

The Southern Rhône neither begins nor ends only with Chateauneuf du Pape, its most famous region, nor only with the region's famous red blends. Le Sang des Cailloux, in the Vacqueyras region, produces, alongside its stunning red blends, 'Un Sang Blanc', one of the region's rare white wines, accounting for only 5% of total production. A rare "beast" that oozes honeyed character in the fruit and comes from a blend of different varieties of the Southern Rhône. Full-bodied, soft and round on the palate, with aromas and flavours of peach, apricot and ripe pear, Un Sang Blanc is combined with refreshing acidity and a long mineral finish.

More info

Exceptionally small production, Un Sang Blanc captures the style of Southern Rhône wines beautifully, combining that oily, oily character and creamy texture with a thirst-quenching yet freshness. Like all the winery's wines, it is fermented with indigenous yeasts and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine will be aged in contact with the lees for about 8 months in oak barrels and will also undergo malolactic fermentation which contributes to its rich creamy texture. It is bottled without filtration or clarification and will be able to age for at least five years in bottle.
