Baudana Barolo "Cerretta" DOCG

114,10 €

The Cerretta vineyard is one of the most important, historical plots of land in the Barolo zone. Barolo Cerretta by Luigi Baudana respectively is probably the most important specimen in his precious list of wines. This is a wine that combines the beastly power and structure associated with the Helvetian soils of Serralunga, with an affability and extraction of fruit, a result of the great care given to the old vines. The wine has an amazing potential for ageing compared to any Barolo and while it starts off quite austere in its youth, time unveils its huge and complex aromatic and organoleptic potential. A majestic Barolo whose mere name gives goosebumps to the fanatics of the area.

More info

Firm on the nose, but with classic aromas of red cherries, pepper, anise, camphor and stone. Immense energy and muscle on the palate, with an earthy character reminiscent of wet forest floor, dried cherries, tobacco and high-quality leather, opposite a combination of aggressive yet fully matured tannins and lively acidity. It will take time to evolve its multi-layered complexity and mitigate its powerful structure. Despite all, it shows early on that depth, class and noble heritage of this, larger than life, Barolo.
