Lamy Chassagne-Montrachet "Le Concis du Champs"

175,00 €

Although the ultimate recognition for Olivier Lamy comes through his St-Aubin wines, he also manages a number of vineyards in the neighbouring, and more famous, appellation of origin of Chassagne-Montrachet. "Concis du Champ" is located on heavier clay soils that give the Chardonnay depth and density. Yet it remains true to Olivier Lamy's mineral and cool style. Sensitively aromatic, with some ripe honey notes and subtle levels of acidity and lemon character on the palate. Elegant, refined, classic, lovely Burgundy with more volume than wines like "La Princee", but equally polished and beautiful acidity to offset the sense of ripeness.

More info

Beautiful, ripe Chassagne, with fruit aromas and notes of hazelnut and nuts, but it doesn't lose anything from Lamy's -full of intensity- style in the mouth. Quite generous and dense but with acidity and smoky mineral notes that balance it beautifully. Lovely harmony and a sense of quality as if it comes from a higher classified vineyard. The fermentation is naturally spontaneous and prolonged in duration and the maturation took time in large oak barrels for 12 months with a minimal percentage (0-5%) being new.
