Vajra Barolo Bricco Delle Viole DOCG

79,70 €

According to Aldo Vajra, the Bricco delle Viole vineyard is like drawing a sketch with the delicacy and precision of a well-scratched pencil. The pride of the Vajra family and the most prominent vineyard in the region, it is nestled in the beautiful embrace of the Langhe mountains. The altitude is one of the highest in Barolo and the vines stretch across an amphitheatre slope, usually above the mist, between 400 and 480 metres above sea level. The abundant sunshine, diurnal range and Tortonian soils premiumize elegance over the classic power of Nebbiolo. The 70-year-old vines give a sophisticated Barolo of silky texture, with chiselled tannins and unsurpassed balance. A true "diamond" of Barolo.

More info

A Barolo with lovely glossy fruit, delicate floral notes reminiscent of rose blossoms and violets and a subtle minerality. The palate is well-rounded, with beautifully digested barrel and a freshness that pleasantly surprises. The fine, almost silky, tannins have excellent depth and length at the same time, leading to a persistent finish with a spicy, spicy character. The wine at all levels has a unique sense of finesse, purity and great class, clearly reflecting the wonderful terroir from which it comes. A terroir that takes its name from the fact that flowers flood the vineyard in early spring due to the southern exposure and intense sunlight. Bricco delle Viole (the hill with violets) is one of Barolo's top crus and the most sensational Vajra wine.
