    The first red of Clos de l'Ecotard is incredibly delicious. The vineyard came into the family's hands in 2021 and is located in a small community in Saumur with vines 50 to 60 years old. The soils are light and sandy, and Thibaut's approach to the cellar is equally light. The wine is not heavily extracted with few pump-overs and is full of elegance and finesse, perfectly exemplifying the philosophy of short extractions, short maturation times and a focus on making the wine immediately accessible. The result is stunning, a combination of aromas, freshness and juiciness that makes it ideal for all days, times and seasons of the year.

    Organic and biodynamic farming (in transition from 2021 acquired) with the vineyard being ploughed by horse and the vines not being trimmed at all in the summer but the tops being circled. Vinification with an infusion technique instead of intense maceration for about 20 days and maturation for 4 months in stainless steel tanks (85%), amphorae (10%) and just 5% new barrel. A crisp, aromatic Cabernet with elegant floral character and gorgeous fine-grained tannins leading to a wonderfully aromatic as well as refreshing finish. Prefer it slightly chilled to bring out all the elegance and lightness of its character.
