Clos de l’Ecotard Saumur Brut

An impressive addition to the portfolio of sparkling wines we have from Loire. Here the Chenin Blanc is complemented by small additions of Grolleau Gris and Cabernet Franc and combined with the exceptional ripeness of the grapes at harvest, we are talking about a wine that is impressive on multiple levels. Exceptionally fine texture and liveliness on the palate, with elegant fruit and floral notes complemented by brambly complexity and notes of toast and smoke from the wine's time on the lees within the bottle. Pure energy and "crispness" on the palate, which is perfectly dry and without added dosage but remains ripe rather than austere. Top of the league, another excellent wine from the new "star" of the Saumur wine firmament.
