Denis Jamain Les Fossiles Rouge

"Les Fossiles Rouge" does not claim its place next to a great Burgundy On the other hand, it is a Pinot Noir that perfectly "describes" the character of the red wines of the Loire. A character that translates into lightness of style, elegance and delicate expression of aromas. The above character that the terroir captures is expressed with such immediacy with the help of diligent cultivation in the vineyard (biodynamic farming) but also with extremely careful vinification, which does not even include barrel aging. The aim is to clearly capture in the glass the "nobility" and freshness of the fruit accompanied by an airy, refreshing, green sensation - reminiscent of chlorophyll - in the mouth. Elegant, with the silky texture of Pinot Noir, it gives a generous pleasure by playing on the simplicity of its character, which is the "quintessence" of "Les Fossiles Rouge".

More info

The entire "Les Fossiles" range comes from fossil-rich soils in the Reuilly region and is vinified exclusively with indigenous yeasts. The small appellation of origin, just off the banks of the Loire River, can offer just as pleasing and enjoyable Pinot Noir as the neighbouring Sancerre. "Les Fossiles" has a very nice cherry expression on the nose and some slightly "darker" mineral notes on the palate. It's fresh and light without lacking intensity in the flavours and expressiveness. It has an ethereal herbal-herbal sensation on the palate that accompanies the pure mineral cherry character of the wine. Very tasty, velvety, ideally drunk slightly chilled.
