Itata is like bringing Europe to Chile, here the terroir is more important than the variety, Cinsault with its red fruit, earthy aromas, forest floor and minerality shows an affinity with Pinot Noir, and the single-vineyard Trane, speaking of Burgundy, would be the equivalent of a grand cru vineyard. In fact, one of the three "grand cru" wines produced by Pedro Parra which are from three fantastic terroirs and are very different from each other. Among them, the Trane, named after saxophonist John Coltrane, is the most elegant and delicate of them all, with acidity and energy reminiscent of the American musician's energy. A field blend of Cinsault and Pais (5%) from 1944, its tannins are like lace, fine, delicate and lovely.

Granitic soils reminiscent of the Northern Rhône and a tiny vineyard owned by Pedro Parra, one of the best in the region. Everything is done by hand, vinification as with all his Cinsault is with 100% whole bunches and fermentation is done in concrete tanks and aging in oak foudres. One of the producer's three excellent grand cru wines that is the finest and most delicate of his three grand cru wines. A Cinsault delicate and complex that showcases the greatness of Itata's old vineyards and terroir.
