Terre Nere Etna Bianco '23 750ml

27,80 €

The beauty of Etna Bianco is not just behind an intensely fruity character, but from the spicy mineral elements, a reference point for some of the world's greatest terroirs. The grapes are from vineyards in different areas of the zone, a small percentage from local growers and the rest from the winery's own vineyards. The altitude ranges from 600-900m, providing the unparalleled freshness of the volcanic wines. It is fully vinified in stainless steel tanks to bring out the freshest, most direct and mineral character of Etna's white wines. It never loses its liveliness and aromatic clarity. Lemon zest, yellow apple and lemon blossom, with very lively acidity, satiny texture and impressive complexity and length.

More info

Etna Bianco was first put into production in 2005 and Carricante is the dominant variety in the blend with a percentage of 70% depending on the year. Carricante is a grape defined by the minerality and saltiness of the terroir. A feast of other field-blends such as Catarratto, Grecanico and Inzolia make up the rest of the wine. Etna's whites are still under the radar, especially compared to the region's reds, despite boasting surprising levels of freshness and vibrancy given their latitude, but this is eaten away at altitude. A stunning introduction to the white wines of the volcano with an effortless ala-Chablis spirit and a polished - almost creamy - texture on the palate. Fresh, lively, mineral and vibrancy on the finish with a wonderfully savoury feel.
