Marcel Deiss Bercken

30,90 €

Verckem comes from all the historically cultivated varieties of Alsace that have been planted mixed in the vineyards and harvested together. A complex mosaic which blends the different varieties from the Bergheim terroir on a limestone substrate with clay-calcareous soils on the surface. Berckem is extremely complex and aromatic with a strong tropical fruit character. Pineapple, sweet apple juice, honey and floral notes, with a mouthfeel that has residual sugars and high balancing acidity. With excellent breadth on the palate but the acidity to freshen and a long finish that leaves the memory of tropical fruit. Tension and energy, acidity and soft sweetness, a beautiful, complex wine from Deiss.

More info

All 13 varieties of Alsace with 50% of the blend being Riesling. Soft but with some "angles" at the same time and a dense texture. Perfectly balanced, a fantastic wine for spicy salmon tartare, with Athenian fish but also fried foie gras. Old-school vinification, whole bunch fermentation, spontaneous fermentation and contact maturation for 12 months together with lees in large oak barrels.
