Reka Koncz Eastern Accents

A softer version of orange wine, or better skin-fermented wine from Reka.Koncz where for Eastern Accents she combines a 35% Furmint and a 65% (Hárslevelű) which she buys from the Matra region of Hungary from organic vineyards. The Hárslevelű ferments as a combination of whole bunches and lightly crushed fruit for two weeks. The Furmint is fermented separately with a percentage of it being pressed directly while another remains in contact with the skins for 1 week. The result for Eastern Accents is very elegant aromatically, without the strongly typical "peel" character of orange wines and combines elegant aromas with excellent levels of acidity and earthiness. The touch of bunches gives it a slight tannic dimension and makes it seem more austere, though less wild and rustic than the 'Ora'. Low alcohol and freshness accentuate its delightfully refreshing length.
