The youngest of the Sunier brothers, Antoine, only arrived in the Beaujolais region in 2014. First he gave up a different career and decided to study viticulture and winemaking in Dijon. Beaujolais once again provided fertile ground for a young producer who in turn reciprocated by intensifying the image of the great changes that have taken place in the region in recent years. Antoine's wines are the epitome of authentic, good, Beaujolais as we have come to know it from producers like Lapierre. They are stunning in purity and fruit, sufficiently serious but without a hint of seriousness, and the fruit, especially in the Regnie, "plays" alongside notes of musky herbs, dark flowers and smoky minerality, like graphite. Antoine's Regnie has something both bright and dark at the same time. And don't think that a wine like this can't age, though we really don't see any reason to resist drinking it for even a little while.
